Mag5th
Mag5th born Jason Patterson on January 16, 1985 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Jason started listening to music as early as age 7 focusing on more R&B than Hip Hop. He loved female R&B singers such as Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige. He also listened to singers such as Musiq Soulchild, Montell Jordan and Donell Jones. When he did listen to Hip Hop, he listened to artists such as Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., DMX and Nas.
Mag5th started rhyming at age 12. After being asked to write a song, Mag5th did his first talent show as an MC. After the show, he decided he wanted to be a Hip Hop artist. For years, he worked on the skills necessary to be the best MC and artist possible. Eventually, his mother helped him search out a studio. That is when he found HardKandy Records, Inc. and producer/engineer, Greg L. Hines (Brother Noyze the Mad Musician). He set up a meeting with the producer and after several successful sessions mutual respect formed.
Mag5th has assisted with several other independent artists in song writing and focusing their energies. Mag5th is responsible for discovering Tiffany Alexis and bringing her to HardKandy Records. He is currently collaborating with Greg L. Hines, D-Note (Chris Collins), and Tiffany Alexis on Tiffany’s debut album as well as his own. He is featured on several upcoming HardKandy Records Albums and is also part of A&R for the label.
